Did you ever participate in a club event ride and then face a long drive home? And in your mind, were you thinking “I wish I could ride out here again tomorrow.”
This Spring, Exceptional Cycling Tours, MidAtlantic launches with the vision of providing full weekend bike trips through the region so that your wish may come true.
“Travel just an hour or so beyond Philadelphia, Baltimore and even New York and you’ll find some of the most beautiful cycling terrain anywhere in the US,” says Ed Weirauch, who with partner John Gill is launching these tours. “Lots of people travel to New England, the west coast and Europe for bike trips and I often wonder why not right here,” questions Gill.
Accommodations will be at bed and breakfast inns and small hotels along the routes, gourmet meals and tour guides with local expertise. Registration fees for event rides will be included in the price.
And for the first time, a bike tour for non-professional racers is being offered in conjunction with the International Cycling Classic, better known as the Philly-Manayunk Bike Race. “Travelers will get the full experience of Philadelphia, from a historic tour to the opportunity to actually ride the race route,” Gill says. “We’re offering a very close-up look at the biggest bike race in the United States.”
