You’ll feel like you’re a part of the biggest one day bike race in the US… because you will be.
You will stay at the Philadelphia hotel race headquarters, ride with the racers on Saturday and get the VIP treatment on Sunday, after you ride the actual race route, including the formidable Manayunk Wall.
Here is what to expect:
Arrive on Friday afternoon, June 3, for check-in and orientation. Experience the pre-race hustle and bustle as teams and their equipment begin to arrive. You will meet in the lobby and then join our adopted team for dinner at the hotel. Meeting these young riders from across the world is an experience you will never forget.
Saturday morning, June 4, you are up early for a buffet breakfast in the lobby, from 8-9AM. After breakfast, you’ll bicycle to historic Valley Forge Park for a tour and a gourmet picnic lunch. We will probably have some pro cyclist join us for part of the trip on the Schuylkill River Trail as they do their morning training rides.
After a return to the race hotel, Saturday afternoon is free time. Maybe take a city tour, visit a museum or other cultural sites or simply relax and prepare for the evening.
Saturday evening, you’ll meet in the lobby and then take a Philadelphia Trolley car to one of our outstanding restaurants. After a great meal and conversation, you’ll board the trolley again for an evening tour of the city and then return to the hotel.
Get a good night’s sleep because Sunday, June 5, is Race Day! Have an early breakfast at
6:30 AM and then head out at 7AM with your bike to ride the race course, including the famous Manayunk Wall. The race begins at 9AM and you’ll be right up front in the VIP hospitality area. Be there as the racers register; meet your new friends and cheer them on at the start.
During the day, you’ll have access to race course shuttles that will take you to other viewing areas and a chance to ride in one of the race pace cars or motorcycles.
We’ll make sure you are back at the start/finish to cheer on the final sprinters up the beautiful Ben Franklin Parkway and into the Winners Circle.
After the awards ceremony, if you still have energy, we’ll re-assemble in the race hotel for some cold libations, race re-caps, and to say “Good Bye” until next year to our new friends and races.
Our goal is to provide you a chance to become fully immersed in the race and the surrounding events, a true “behind the scenes” experience, meeting riders, managers, mechanics, event staff, and more.
